Quick Answer — What Framer Costs

A Framer website costs $1,500 to $18,000+ to build in 2026, with most marketing sites landing between $3,500 and $9,000 and complex animation-heavy sites between $9,000 and $18,000. According to projectcostestimator.com data from 600+ projects (including 19 Framer builds), Framer is the fastest path from Figma-style design to a live website for designers — but the marketplace is shallow on dev-heavy features. Calculate your specific Framer build at projectcostestimator.com/calculator.

Here are real numbers from 19 Framer projects I have scoped or shipped:

Custom marketing site (10-20 pages)$3,500 – $9,000$9,000 – $18,0003-6 weeks

Multi-language / multi-region site$8,000 – $18,000$18,000 – $35,0006-10 weeks

Plus Framer monthly fees: $5-$30/mo per site (more on plans below).

Framer Plans — The Monthly Cost

Framer's pricing changed in 2024 and held steady through 2026:

PlanMonthly (annual)BandwidthBest For
Free$0100GBDrafts and prototypes
Mini$5/mo50GBOne-page sites, links-in-bio
Basic$15/mo100GBSmall business marketing site
Pro$30/mo1TBMost business sites, CMS included
Business$80/mo5TB + stagingScaled sites with team
EnterpriseCustomCustomMulti-site, SSO, SLA

Framer Pro at $30/mo is the sweet spot for most clients I work with. The CMS (Framer's content collections) is included — important because Webflow charges per-CMS-item upgrades. Compare in my Webflow vs Framer cost guide.

The per-site billing trap. Unlike Webflow workspaces, each Framer site is billed separately. An agency running 8 client sites pays 8x Pro = $240/mo. Use the Business plan ($80/mo) for unlimited if you cross 3+ sites.

Custom domain SSL is included on all paid plans — no extra fee.

For comparable platform fees see my Vercel cost 2026 and Cloudflare cost 2026 guides.

Framer Build Cost Breakdown

Typical hour breakdown for a $7,500 custom Framer marketing site (12 pages):

QA + cross-browser + mobile pass6-10h$640$1,040
Total74-128h$8,080$13,130

At a typical $90-$110/hr Framer specialist that puts the site at $7,000-$10,000 — matching my quotes.

Cost levers:

  • - Template vs custom. A $49-$199 Framer template + customization saves 25-40h ($2,000-$5,200). Use templates unless the brand demands originality.
  • Animation depth. Subtle hover + scroll animations are 5-10h. Award-style scroll-driven storytelling is 30-80h. Set animation budget early.
  • Responsive design. Framer is responsive by default but mobile-perfect details add 10-20h on typical sites.
  • CMS content count. A 6-page CMS is 6h. A 200-item case-study CMS is 30-50h.

Framer wins for:

  • - Designer-led teams shipping marketing sites fast
  • Animation-heavy product launches
  • Agencies that already use Figma (similar editing model)
  • Sites where the design is the differentiator

Webflow wins for:

  • - CMS-heavy sites with editorial workflows
  • Light ecommerce
  • Larger team workflows with permissions
  • Sites needing the deeper plugin / integration ecosystem

Figma-to-Code wins for:

  • - Long-term ownership without monthly platform fees
  • Custom integrations no platform supports
  • Sites that will evolve into a web app

Real Framer Monthly Stack

Three client stacks from my book:

Solo SaaS founder, 6-page marketing site

  • - Framer Basic: $15/mo
  • Domain: $1.25/mo
  • Analytics (Plausible): $9/mo
  • Total: $25/mo

Series-A startup, 24-page marketing site with blog

  • - Framer Pro: $30/mo
  • Custom domain + Google Workspace: $14/mo
  • HubSpot CRM forms (free tier): $0
  • Plausible Analytics: $19/mo
  • Loops email forms: $0 (free tier)
  • Total: $63/mo

Design agency hosting 8 client sites

  • - Framer Business: $80/mo (covers all 8)
  • Domains aggregated: $10/mo
  • Total: $90/mo ($11/mo per site)

Compare with Webflow equivalents at $84/site/mo for similar features. Framer is cheaper at the per-site level for under-10-site portfolios, Webflow wins for big agencies via Workspace pricing.

When Framer Is the Right Pick

Framer is the best choice when:

1. The designer ships the site. Framer's editing model is closest to Figma. A designer comfortable in Figma is productive in Framer within a week. Webflow takes 3-8 weeks of learning.

2. Animation is the brand. Framer's animation tools beat every other platform's for scroll, hover, and page-transition effects. If your differentiator is "we feel premium," Framer earns its premium.

3. Speed to launch matters. A Framer marketing site ships in 1-3 weeks from a brief. Webflow takes 2-5 weeks. Figma-to-code takes 4-8 weeks.

4. The site is mostly marketing. Under 50 pages, mostly informational, occasional blog. Framer fits this shape perfectly.

5. Your team is design-led. Designers can iterate without engineering. Reduces friction in the Figma-design / dev-build / approve cycle.

Framer struggles for:

  • - Sites with 100+ CMS items (collections get slow to author)
  • Ecommerce (use Shopify embed if needed)
  • Multilingual at scale (manual content duplication is painful past 3 locales — see my multilingual website cost guide)
  • Sites that need WordPress-style plugin extensibility

For polished Framer talent try Toptal (senior designer-developers $100+/hr) or Upwork for budget builds ($40-$80/hr).

Year-1 Budget I Quote Framer Clients

Real quote for a recent client (B2B SaaS, 16-page marketing site, design-heavy):

Build (one-time)

  • - Discovery + sitemap + content audit: $700
  • Design system + components in Framer: $1,800
  • 16 page layouts + responsive across breakpoints: $4,200
  • Animation pass (scroll + hover): $1,400
  • CMS (blog + case studies) setup: $1,100
  • SEO + analytics + forms integration: $900
  • Launch + DNS + QA: $500
  • Total build: $10,600

Year 1 monthly stack

  • - Framer Pro: $30/mo
  • Domain + Google Workspace: $20/mo
  • Plausible Analytics: $19/mo
  • Loops email automation: $49/mo (Growth tier)
  • Monthly: $118/mo → $1,416/yr

Year 1 total: $12,016

vs equivalent Webflow build ($11,200 + $1,860/yr = $13,060) or Next.js custom ($16,500 + $360/yr = $16,860). Framer wins on year-1 economics for design-led marketing sites.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Framer website cost in 2026?+
A custom marketing site costs $3,500-$9,000 solo or $9,000-$18,000 agency. Animation-heavy sites cost $6,000-$14,000 solo or up to $28,000 agency. Plus Framer plan fees of $5-$80/mo.
Is Framer cheaper than Webflow?+
Slightly. At the single-site level Framer Pro at $30/mo is cheaper than Webflow CMS at $29/mo + site plan. Build cost is roughly 15-25% cheaper because Framer is faster for designers. Webflow wins for agencies running 10+ sites via Workspace pricing.
Do I need a developer for Framer?+
No, that is the point. A designer can ship a full Framer site without code. Adding custom code components (Pro plan) requires JavaScript. Most Framer sites I scope are built entirely by designers.
Can Framer handle ecommerce?+
Light only. Framer integrates with Shopify Buy Buttons, Snipcart, or Gumroad embeds. For serious ecommerce use Shopify proper. Framer for marketing + Shopify for checkout is a common pattern.
How fast can a designer learn Framer?+
A Figma-native designer ships a basic Framer site within 1-2 weeks. Mastering animation, responsive details, and CMS takes 2-3 months of regular use. Much faster than Webflow which takes 3-8 weeks for equivalent skill.
Can I migrate from Framer to another platform?+
Difficult. Framer does not export clean HTML/CSS. Migration means rebuilding the site in the target platform. Budget $3,000-$10,000 to migrate a 12-20 page Framer site to Webflow or custom code. Plan for 2-3+ years of Framer commitment.
Is Framer good for SEO?+
Yes. Framer renders pages server-side with clean HTML, supports full meta controls, structured data, sitemaps, and 301 redirects. Core Web Vitals are typically strong. SEO performance is comparable to Webflow and better than Wix.
