Terms of Service

Last updated: April 9, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Project Cost Estimator at projectcostestimator.com ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms are provided by Scopebit ("we", "us", "our").

2. Description of service

Project Cost Estimator provides a web-based tool for generating indicative cost estimates for web development projects. Estimates are generated algorithmically using market rate data and should be treated as guidance only — not as formal quotes, contracts, or professional advice.

The Service includes a free tier and paid features (PDF reports, expert reviews) available for purchase.

3. Estimates are not quotes

All cost estimates produced by this tool are indicative only. They are based on aggregated market data and statistical models, not a formal scoping of your specific project. Actual costs from developers or agencies may vary significantly. We do not guarantee that any estimate reflects the price you will be quoted by any specific vendor.

You should treat estimates as a starting point for your research, not as a binding price or a replacement for proper project scoping.

4. Paid features and refunds

Paid features (PDF report unlock at $8; Expert Review at $99) are processed via PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account — major credit and debit cards are accepted at checkout.

Refund policy: We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all paid purchases. To request a refund, email hello@projectcostestimator.com with your PayPal transaction ID. Refunds are processed within 5 business days.

Expert Reviews are delivered within 24 hours of confirmed payment. If delivery is not made within 48 hours (excluding weekends and public holidays), you are entitled to a full refund.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service
  • Use the Service to generate automated bulk requests or benchmark our infrastructure
  • Misrepresent our estimates as formal quotes or binding proposals
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer our calculation engines or pricing models
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law

6. Intellectual property

The calculation engines, UI design, brand assets, blog content, and underlying logic of the Service are the property of Scopebit and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, republish, or commercially exploit any part of the Service without written permission.

PDF reports purchased by you are licensed for your personal or internal business use only. Reselling or redistributing reports is not permitted.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that estimates will be accurate for your specific project circumstances.

Use of the Service is at your own risk. We disclaim all liability for decisions made based on estimates generated by the tool.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scopebit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service, including but not limited to financial losses resulting from acting on an estimate.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding the claim.

9. Links to third-party sites

The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of those sites.

10. Changes to the service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any such changes.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the jurisdiction in which Scopebit operates. Disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, then binding arbitration if necessary.
