Why the price is what it is
A worked example. One brief, three agencies, three quotes: $4,000, $11,000 and $18,000. None of them is wrong on its face; without a reference number a fair quote and a padded one look the same. The gap between the lowest and the highest is $14,000. The report that tells you which one is priced right is $29; scoring all three is $49. We are independent and we do not build websites, so the number has no build attached to it.

What do I get for $29?

The report is published by Project Cost Estimator under our name: a third-party reference to put in front of an agency, not a white-label quote. It unlocks at once in the browser you paid from (for 24 hours) and the PDF is emailed to you to keep.
What does the Pro plan ($19/mo) unlock?
Everything the $29 report unlocks, for every estimate you run: unlimited full reports and PDFs, unlimited Quote Analyzer runs (normally $49 each), unlimited saved estimates, and the same scope priced in all 6 markets side by side. It is for people who price more than one project a month.
Can I cancel the plan any time?
Yes. Plans are billed monthly through PayPal and you cancel from your PayPal account in two clicks; there is no minimum term. Access runs to the end of the month you paid for. Within 30 days of the first payment, reply to the receipt for a refund.
Do I need to create an account?
No. A one-time purchase unlocks in the browser you paid from. A plan works the same way: PayPal confirms the subscription, we mint an access key in your browser and renew it every month while the plan is active. On a new device, open /pro and enter your PayPal subscription id to restore access.
What payment methods do you accept?
PayPal and all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) through PayPal's checkout. Plans are PayPal subscriptions; one-time tools are single PayPal payments.
How accurate are the estimates?
Our estimates target ±18% of real market quotes, calibrated against 600+ project quotes and rate benchmarks across 6 geographic markets using 2026 rates. Transparent hours × real market rates, not guesswork.
What is the Agency plan?
$49/mo for agencies and freelancers: everything in Pro, the calculator on your own site with your branding (Embed Pro), a featured listing in the builder directory and on matching results pages, and quote requests matched to you before free listings (3 a month included once per-request billing starts, then $19 each; nothing is charged per request today). Your first reply goes out from our address with yours as the reply-to; after that the buyer writes to you directly.
Do you build websites?
No. We are independent and we do not build websites, so we have no reason to inflate or shrink the number. The paid tools exist so you can check a quote, not so we can sell you a build.
Does my history sync between devices?
Yes, with a sign-in. Sign in with your email on /account (we send a link; there is no password) and your saved estimates and a Pro or Agency plan follow that email to every browser and device. Without signing in, saved estimates stay in the browser that saved them (up to 10) and a plan unlocks only where it was bought or restored. A plan bought with the same email is attached on the first sign-in; any other one links from the account page with its PayPal subscription id.
